Hi I have a 96 gsr with a b16motor and Stock GSR Tranny. I bought the car this way. When i drive the car normal it shifts fine but when i hit and try to shift fast into second it feel like I hit a wall or somthing. It doesnt grind just hits this wall. It also does this when I down shift from 5. If i slightly put it in 3rd or 1st befor downshifting in to 2nd it will go in no problem.

Any ideas?

 

Well Im going to try honda tranny fluid cause what I was told was in there was regular gas station oil, ew. Maybe this will help with shifting.

 

gas station oil? you mean motor oil.. but yeah i guess thats the best way to go if a problem still exist it could be your timing is off, or the tranny itself

I Have been drag racing at the track sence 1998 and have never had a problem shifting into second gear. Somtimes I even let the car rev down to idle and it still wont go into second gear unless I partialy go into 3rd or 1st before trying to go back in second. The previous owner had this problem too.
