D16Z6 head/im/tb/dist (Y7 dist internals)
stock P28 with Boomslang harness
new fuel filter
car was very low on gas when I did the swap, so I put some a new gallon of gas in it today
Before the headswap, the car ran fine, no problems.
Now, it is backfiring. I finally got it to run right earlier today and took it on a drive for a few miles, light driving. Ran fine but low power.
Pulled the plugs and # 2 and 3 were fouled really bad.
Put new NGK's in gapped to .044 (same as the new plugs that I put in when doing the head swap). Started it up and it was backfiring every few seconds. Didn't do it until I changed the spark plugs out. It has new plug wires. Redid the timing just to make sure it was on, and it is good.
Running on Z6 injectors/rail/fpr.
Any way I can clean the injectors without running injector cleaner through it? I can't drive it as it is so the injector cleaner won't help me now.
Ideas?
PROBLEM FIXED: New plugs were gapped .005" too much. Runs like a champ.
