ac problem noise

my car idles fine until i turn my ac on. then it makes a loud knocking noise from the front pass side of the motor. like in the tranny. ne 1 have any clue whats goin on? o my car is a 94 ls. stock. thank you

Your idle should be slightly higher when the ac is engaged. The loud noise might be bad bearings in the compressor clutch.

Its coming from the tranny side and when i putch the clutch in it stops. I assume its the throw out bering. just thouht it weird that it only does it when the a/c is on
