How can we tell what kinda D-Series tranny? DX, HF or Si?
A friend I know as a D-Series cable transmission sitting around and I dunno what kind it is, whether it's HF, DX or Si. As far as he can remember, he was told it was from an Si with like 60K miles on it, but we really do not know, and we're not installing it into anything as I don't have a D-Series anymore and he doesn't have a Honda anymore. Anyone tell me how to tell from any markings on the tranny? Or is it going to be a damn guessing game?
To be 100% sure, you have to do a search.
You have to count the number of spins the differential makes with a few turns of the input shaft to be completely sure on these trannies, theres no set code. Search google at the least. There are some pictures drawn up on the procedure you need to do.
