Regular paint stands up fine for normal intakes. I wouldnt consider heat-worthy paint unless your were boosted.

Is your intake 3 inches in diameter? Someone tried to break into your trunk?

Blacks a bad color to paint your intake - it'll absorb more radiant heat from the engine, and warm the air up a little more.

But that won't matter much on a non-vtec d15

Was that a serious remark? I doubt it will make that much of a difference man.

X2
I thought that only applied to direct sunlight, and the absorbtion of heat waves. I wouldnt think of that really applying to what goes on under the hood. I would think heat transfer under the hood has more to do with what materials (metals, plastics, ect) are there, rather than what color they are.

Anywhere there's blackbody radiation (ie, hot engine, hot exhaust) theres heat waves carrying radiant heat. You're probably right that what material is there matters more, but the effect from IR absorption is non-zero.

Its the kind of thing you'd want to worry about in a high-performance situation, not a stock d15.

It does look alot better

no one said it made the car faster...he was jus starting to clean the whole car up, and doing that was not a bad start.
