92 DX Rear Brake Noise
Just had my rear (drum) brakes done (drums resurfaced too) by a supposed Honda specialist. Said they only use Honda OEM parts. First morning after the repair, the first time I braked, there was a high pitch "scream" from right rear which quieted down more & more every time I used the brake. (and yes, it's the back brake because I get it by pulling the emergency brake lever too). It's been 4 days and now I hear a faint scream every once in awhile that always seems to go away the more the brakes get used. So my question is should I bring it back to get checked? Never heard this noise previously.
Thanks
Thanks
i have the same problem with my front passenger side brake on my ek! I'd also like to know what's up. the only thing i did recently to it was wash my car with a pressure washer and the rims to get the brake dust off.
can anyone else chime in on here? I did a search, no luck.

ok theres a big difference with your guys problems.
Bluedun-some dust or a rock... debri might be caught in between your shoe and drum. Pull the drums, spary it down with brake clean and check all spring and clips to make sure their in the right spot.
J.Nguyen2- Your fronts are discs... so depending on the mileage you might be down to the squeelers on the the pads or you might have actually forced some debri in between the disc/pad when you pressure washed the front. pop your calipers off and spray everything down with some brake clean. Inspect pads for wear and put it back together.
Either way you guys are fine. Squeeling is normal for a short period of time of break in.
Easy Job.... Good luck.. i hope this helps.

more than likely when the dude resurfaced your drum he just pulled it of the lathe and slapped it right on the car, and didn't clean the metal dust off. If that is the case then you got it imprinted in your new brake shoe. he probably just got in a hurry check the drum to see if it is scored, if so take it back
