As I have pointed out many times now. I want the black i-VTEC manifold cover seen on such models as the Aussie(Euro) Type-R, and most of the southern countries 2.0s. Also found on our neighbors CSX.

However i 'believe' that this motor is the K20Z2. I believe that there are no models holding a K20Z3 with a black IM cover. Now I need to know what year our Accord-R Intake Manifold came from, perhaps a motor from THAT car had a IM that can be trimmed to fit.

Edit: There are also a few models of K24 with black covers, none of which have our manifold. This is looking bad. Again.

all of the new 4 cyl accords have black covers. my wife has an 07, and manifold covers are black

 

Two problems with that, the sticker says 2.4, which we aren't and the manifold cover wont fit because the manifold is a different size. I am trying to find a model with our manifold at least.

 

I have seen the covers painted and they look half decent why not give that a throw??

 

yah just paint it. $5 for a can spray and you're good.

 

What is under your hood that you car what it looks like when you pop it?

 

Painting is a last resort. I think its cheap. I like the look of the motor as well as the car, why else do people get red valve covers ect...

If I can't get a black one I will likely seek having a CF replica made and buy the black lettered "i-VTEC" sticker for it. *goes to check to see if there is a part number*

While I was In kuwait in 2005 the CRV, & Stream had K20's. They Had the black cover you mention but they had a black composite intake manifold similar looking to the RSX K20A3.

well, I don't make the big bucks to swap wheels weekly, or buy a supercharger, but I do what i can.

honestly how much heat do you think that plastic peice traps? with areas to vent on all 4 corners my guess is not much to make any diff at all...

I would vote and say wait till the mugen sedan is out and parts start coming from that. Dont be to anxious with your new car, parts will be comming out for it for the next 12 years. The best is yet to come

 

The accord Euro R comes with a K20A with our manifold its still a silver cover though..... heres a pic:

I was just looking at that accord and stumbled across this site to import cars from Japan.. lol.. all you guys claiming you're gonna import a type r can line up to call these guys and give them your money

 

You could bring it over...but wouldn't you have some difficulties driving it legally?

yeah, I didn't post it because I thought someone would actually do this. I posted this for all the people that talk smack about importing a type r, but claim they don't know how to go about it.

You have to sacrifice some cars to the highway patrol...for crash testing and such? Isn't that the reason why MotorEX or whatever was able to bring over the Skylines?

 

all this is just total BS, my feelings are if u can drive a ENZO on the street u should be able to drive a danm Civic Type R lol
