Default What is this leaking ??

Basically i think i might have a blown head gasket on my d16z6 but im not sure. ive got some of the symptoms. White smoke, over heating occasionally, leaking water. but im not sure if this is the same problem or even what it is at all!

basically i get a leak from the hole inside the blue circle.

here is a picture of where the hole is located. it is around the water pump area i think where all the belts are

is there meant to be something attached to there or is the hole not meant to be there!? any help would be great thanks
Scott

pop open your timing belt cover and start the engine. see if it leaks form the water pump area. there usually is a built in seep hole to prevent coolant from touching the timing belt if it leaks because if that happens it automatically ruins it.

That's the weep hole for the water pump.

Hi thanks,
does this mean that the water pump will need replacing or are there any other possible causes?
Thanks

Like they suggested, get the timing belt too. Might as well replace it since it has to come off. If you are going to drive on it while you are waiting for it to come in, I would check your coolant levels as often as you can and maybe even drive with the heater on to release some heat.

Just treat it like a bad oil leak, check your coolant constantly and get it fixed soon.
