how to modify my exhaust to use v-band clamps? question inside
i had quick question, i have a 3" exhaust that has a muffler that i use for street and an interchangeable rear section which is non-restricted that i'd like to use on the track. the thing is, that the exhaust is held on by spring clamps, which i hate to use, last time i put it on, it seemed like the spring was gonna snap and shoot me in the face, not my cup of tea
then i went on spoolinperformance.com and saw they had 3" v-band clamp and conversion kits, and it came out to about $40
if i can do this to my rear section for $40, it would be a well worth $40 spent. all i would need is to use my rachet and socket to loosen it up and swap it out, voila
i'm assuming since my exhaust is slip-fit, i would need to cut off a portion so it would sit lip to lip instead of sliding inside of the other pipe, correct?
my question
can i use the following parts in the picture to adapt to my exhaust? i assume the smaller face of the flange goes inside my exhaust or something, then i put them back to back
