Default Toda A's vs Spoon Cams?

anyone got any input? experience with spoon?
we are planning on keep stock springs and retainers. We heard that Spoon is inbetween A's and B's.

Spoons are milder than the A's.

Spoon
Intake 11.53mm duration-256@1mm
Exhaust 11.13mm duration-245@1mm

Toda A
Intake 11.6mm duration-250@1mm
Exhaust 11.2mm duration-240@1mm

hope this helps

Looks like Spoon has more duration. Which is weird, because when I dyno'd both sets of cams, the Spec A's made more power all in VTEC.

Yeah, I was looking into cams too, just didn't know if I wanted to rework the whole engine. That's the great thing about the A's over the B cams.

You don't have to rework the motor to run Bs...

My setup is gonna be as follows:

- Hytech Header
- Hytech Exhaust
- Comptech Icebox
- Toda Spec B Cams
- Toda Valvetrain
- Portflow Titanium Retainers
- Mugen Headgasket
- Hondata Stage 2

I'm hoping for high 190s, possibly even 200whp... With a stock bottom end (i.e. pistons, rods, etc....)

Would that setup work fine (not trying to be stoopid, just wondering)...and really how much will all that cost...maybe I'll have to consider something similar.

out of spoon cams you can expect 180-185whp just from cams and i/h/e .
if you want a simple upgrade go with Toda A's .
but for the amount of money go a step further and either Jun3 or even Toda B's .
or you can even consider Skunk2 stage 2.

I'm sorry but after the great camshaft test how could you not go with the JUN II intake/ITR exhaust combo? You can't beat it for the money. As Mike said the combo absolutly pissed on the TODA's for low end and mid-range.
Later.

Spoon cams are good for mild tuning and mid-range power for small and mid size circuit. Spoon tested these cams under 24hrs endurance for their duability and longevity.

Spoon cams offer better mid-range depends on engine setting like I/H/E. They don't require any valvetrain upgrades. Stock valvetrain B16/18 with these cams can rev up to 9k with no problems.

The same apllies to the spec-As really comes down to personal prefernce between the two. Both are good and maybe on your particular motor spoons make more power than A's or maybe the other way around it'll be close in any case just can't be the same as it is a propietary grind for spoon but really close to the A's.

it better be I'm sure we all know who PAID for it

why are you even hoping to hit 200........it says in the sig soon to be boosted , why bother even tuning what you have now

oh , I get it its cause you dont pay for any of it anyway
