Emergency Brake Problem
I went to get my car inspected here in Germany yesterday, and they did a brake test. The brake test under the master cylinder went fine, but they also tested it under the e-brake. The e-brake failed, and got giged for the window tint. So I adjusted the e-brake last night went back down today and it failed again, so I pulled the armrest out in the parking lot adjusted it until it was starting to drag with the brake lever down, and it still failed. So I jacked the rear of the car up in the parking lot and adjusted it until the wheel wouldn't stop then backed it off 1/2 turn and checked that the wheel spun freely. Took it back and it still failed, but then I looked at the reading and it was only the left side. It had about half of the force as the right caliper. In past inspections they never put on any type of machine, so I don't know if it's it been that way since new. When under pedal pressure it does fine it's just the e-brake, so the caliper should be fine. I thought about cable length but the equelizer behind the adjusting nut should compensate for that plus rotor or pad wear. The rotors and pads have around 10k miles all around the car. I am not aware of any other adjustment at the caliper. Any help would be appreciated.
Since you have checked all that...
Maybe it's pad/rotor wear? Maybe it's been dragging for a while and has worn out just that side? Check and see if the pad thickness is the same on both sides.
If not that, maybe it's a caliper issue, seems you have covered most of the other stuff.

Since I am in Germany I don't have all my tools (specficaly micrometer). Had to cut down on weight, and bring the essentials (put the rest in storage). Just eye balling it the pads wear looks about even and rotors look fine, but I did get the rotors from autozone (they said made in japan). I am using OEM honda pads. I was thinking that even with uneven wear the equalizer should compensate for pad pressure. I did a google search and pulled this link up http://www.alldata.com/techtip....html I haven't seen it mentioned in any manuals, but figured what the hell and will look at it tomorrow. It's getting late here in Germany. Thanks for the reply.
