for intake i would get the AEM V2.
i have a Skunk2 exhaust and i love it.its pretty loud but it comes with a silencer that makes it a little quieter.i dont even use the silencer except every once in a while, maybe.

You can't beat the sound of a Mugen system.....
There are other TWIN LOOPs out there as well now.....
Greddy SP2 is pretty quiet or an older RSR if you can find it.

Is the Skunk2 too loud for DD without the silencer? If so, aside from getting quieter, how does the silencer affect sound quality? i.e. does it get raspy?

X2

Mugen is the only exhaust I would personally go with only because the sound is quiet and not raspy at all.

the silencer doesnt really effect the sound of it.it does not get raspy, just quieter and not as deep sounding.
as for it being to loud for DD,its your personal opinion on too loud.i daily drive my car without the silencer and it doesnt bother me.i can see it being too loud as a DD without silencer for most people tho.also i was running an open exhaust for about a month before i got the Skunk2.

Screw the V2 just get a CAI and if you feel saucy try a flowstack out for yourself.

V2 showed barely any gains over a stock intake w/resonator removed in a recent test done by blake, but take that for what you will, no CAI was tested but surficed to say I'm happy with my CAI w/flowstack

I personally have a Greddy SP2 on my lude atm with high flow cat, and I always get the same responses from different types of people.

People that have no intrest in cars or modding: "Doesnt sound like a typical Honda" (by that I assume they mean ricer)

People into modding but not a lot of experiance to what "LOUD" actually is: It's pretty loud but sounds very nice and deep tone (these people usually love it)

People with experiance and really into modding(these people like myself have probably one time or another owned a car with or heard many cars with a 3in pipping no cat, no resonator, exiting striaght out of an N1)(most people on this board that are somewhat respected): Not that loud, good street quaility sound good performance gains from it

IN all honesty it's not that loud unless you have some supporting mods and you hit VTEC but after like 5.5K I the sound of my intake and engine are dominating the sound of my exhaust from the cabin.

I've been pulled over for it in cali but never given a ticket for it so take that for what you will.

here are dyno test results from 98vtec's intake tests.clearly the V2 intake made the best performance results out of them all.thats not including the 3"AEM CAI tho.

Yeah but what it made like 5hp from 3.2K to 3.7K?

don't think thats worth the 350 or whatever a V2 costs.

T1R exhaust are very nice, 2.5 inch stainless steel cat back.
Reason I don't have one is I couldn't get a hold of them to actually order one but that was just my experience.

The apexi WS2 is a great sounding exhaust, and I run a Thermal R&D Stealth model on my car, love the sound, great quality.

Regular CAI + bpi ftw.
Old RSR, Apexi WS or WS2, or Greddy Evo2 ftw.

RSR is best, the ws2 is quite and sounds nice, the evo2 is a little louder but sounds deep as hell.
