Default v-afc mounting point

Getting one this weekend and trying to plan out where to mount this sucker. I wanted it right on the dash and stuff but I thought that might make it prone to being stolen or might look kinna wrong.

So I was thinking either cup holder area or maybe glove box? Any install pics you guys got or any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Oh its a 98 Civic EX Coupe.

I mounted mine with the Apex'i bracket screwed into the plastic mounting point for the rearview mirror - that way I can swivel it down for tuning and swivel it up and it disappears. Run the cable through the headliner and down your A-pillar.

Had mine here:

Not as intrusive as it looks - only blocks below 2k rpm on the tach (I kept rpm displayed on the V-AFC). I just velcro'd the Apex'i bracket to the gauge bezel. I also had the V-AFC velcro'd to the bracket for easy removal.

Yeah plus you'll know when you're REALLY overheating when the steam starts blowing out of your hood, right?

Huh? From the typical seating position, I could see the needle where it was supposed to be on my Type R (1 tick left of middle). If it started to move, I could still see it.
