Default is this a good steering setup? momo hub+NRG QR+nardi deep corn 330mm+unpowered teg rack

the car is an EH hatch...

some say that the momo hub and NRG guick release and deep dish of the nardi will bring the wheel too close to my chest while driving...

others say that 330mm is too small when using an integra rack with no PS...

need more opinions! PLEASE

They're right on both accounts. The steering will be pretty darn stiff with a wheel that small in diameter. And yes, the wheel will sit fairly close to your chest. If you have long legs though, that might be a good thing.

good to know, thanks for the heads up. looks like I'll do the NRG QR and short hub with a 350mm deep corn and unpowered integra rack.

or I wonder if it would be wiser to use the stock VX manual steering rack and a 330mm wheel?

I can get an integra rack for free, and I'll have the car all ripped apart very soon anyway so it's not a time or money thing...

I'm leaning towards 350 wheel, teg rack.

350 wheel + Integra rack is pretty good. A smaller wheel though, and it gets to be a major pain in the ***. I don't know about the VX rack, but a 320 wheel and CX rack isn't bad, but it isn't as nice a ratio as the Integra setup either. There was a noticeable difference in how much I had to turn the wheel to get whatever desired amount of vehicle turning.

350 wheel should be better ergonomically as well I suppose?

thanks for the input, Stinkycheezmonky... very much appreciated.

I like 320-330mm wheels better than 350mm for feel and hand position (stock wheel diameters are insanely huge and weird in feel to me.) I don't feel a "depowered" Integra rack with 320mm wheel is too much effort for a daily driver on sticky 205/50-15 tires (which is the setup on my brother's '90 Integra). Steering is direct and a pleasure to drive with good feedback. How light is your EH though? If it's close to 2300lbs with full fuel load then steering effort should be manageable from a stop.

Ergonomics are more based on what particular wheel you use than its size.

When I was using a 320 wheel with a depowered Integra rack (2180lbs without me, full tank) even on Azenis it was a handful, and I'm not a powderpuff kinda guy. On R-comps it was no fun at all, and indeed felt a little too out of my control for my liking.

And just for reference, the stock Integra/Civic wheels are more like 375mm diameter. The JDM wheels (at least the non-SRS ones) are closer to 350 though.

Edit: I also just reread your post Vracer, and there could be a difference in DC and DA Integra racks. I've never driven a depowered rack DA before, so I couldn't tell you for sure. I am pretty sure that at least the ratios are different.

ergonomics are based on the person's physiology ! there is no such thing as an ideal steering size. the ideal steering size is the one you feel the best with. It is like choosing a girlfriend, but the steering will never end up crazy...

I personally used a 280mm steering for track (w/ ps) on a civic rack, and I loved it
