I am wanting to get some TL wheels for my V6 Coupe. According to what I am finding the lug pattern is the same 5 lug on 114.3mm. However what I am concerned with a little is the width. The Accord EX wheels are 6.5" wide and the 04 TL wheels are 8" wide. Has anyone run these wheels on a 98-02 Accord?

 

yes but use the correct tire size for that year accord which is 215/50-17

depending on how low u want it, u may need to roll yer fenders slightly.

i mostly see this wheel combo on accord 03-07 and older tl's

 

215/50-17 tires are usually approved for mounting only on wheels that are 6.0-7.5 inches wide, so I would avoid mounting them on 17x8 wheels. You might want to instead get 225/50-17 tires, which are approved for mounting on 6.0-8.0 inch wide wheels. 215/50-17 is 0.9 percent smaller in diameter than your stock size of 205/60-16, 225/50-17 is 0.7 percent larger. There's a slight chance the 225/50-17 might rub on full steering lock, which is why the 215/50-17 would otherwise be a better choice, but not if you have to put them on 17x8 wheels.

So it could be done, preferably with 225/50-17 tires. But if you have the choice, I think you would be better off with 17x7 wheels (and on which you could mount either size tires).

 

I think you are right nsxtasy. Some 17X7 wheels would be better. I guess I will keep looking around to see what I can get the best deal on. Anything beats rolling on the 15" steelies with wheel covers. Thanks for all the info guys.

 

yeah he is right. i was wrong.. 215/50 will be looking quite stretched on the 17x8.

personally, i would go w/ 17x7 or 17x7.5 in the +45 offset range
