Default AEM Hybrid intake on EK hatch w/ a B16A2 swap

Is an AEM Hybrid intake necessary on an EK hatch w/ a B16A2 swap? I see it on AEM's website. I always thought the engine bays on all the EK's were the same. I'm thinking about getting the V2 for an EM1 Si for my car.

you'll be fine with one from a DOHC dels sol or a 99 civic si.

So do the AEM intakes come w/ a new front tranny mount bracket?

No. the del sol has a hole behind the driver headlight EG style.

You can use a 3.5'' hole saw. There's an embossed panel behind the passenger side headlight. The EX models have a hole there for the intake to go thru. If you had an EX, you could just put a CAI thru that hole. If you cut that hole with a hole saw, and do a little spray paint touch up, it will look very factory. I like the way the intake sits better in this setup. IMO it looks a lot nicer. Plus it will give you a bigger variety of intakes. Here's how it looked on my EK.

Or just get the model for a 99-00 Si.

I agree. Putting the intake through that hole would be much cleaner. But I need a CARB # so I guess I'll get the Si intake.

BTW, that intake manifold is that?
