Hey guys..a newbie here...plz b patient and give simple advice..thank you..i have a 06 civic si w/o a navi..so i am plannin on getting the (HA1561DGB Gray 2006 06 Honda Civic Complete Dash Kit) 2replace the factory dash, and i want 2buy a aftermarket dvd/navigation unit..can u give any advice on a gud one for under $800 and do i need a single din or double din for this install??..

 

Is there a reason you don't want one that can be removed? That not only saves you a few hundred bucks, but you can take it with you for security.

Yes, like a Garmin Streetpilot. You can mount it on the dash or on suction cups and take it out whenever you want. You can get a decent one for under 400 bucks.

I know that an aftermarket unit installed in the dash is cleaner and more functional, but this is cheaper and you can take it with you, if directions is all you need out of it.

Otherwise, you can check crutchfield.com and get an all in one, navigation, DVD, and mp3 player.

 

0h..yea i looked into the portable ones as well, but idk i really like the in-dash ones even if its going to cost more $$..but thnx for the help and advice

No problem. I'd recommend going to crutchfield.com. They cost more, but you can get a unit that is guaranteed to fit, all necessary wiring components, detailed instructions, and live tech support for questions if you need help putting it in.

Pioneer AVIC-D3... excellent unit for the price, usually find it on Amazon.com for 850 shipped.

 

Crutchfield is a great company or these kinds of things. They have a great warranty. I'd personally would probably got with a Pioneer or Eclipse.
