Is it possible to put these controls into my 07 LX? I know I can buy them from the stealership I just wanted to know if anyone has done it before. Thanks in advance.

it cost alot. you would need an EX steering wheel, plus the wires thats needed. not to mention if you have the dealer do it for you, thats another fortune right there having them to install it. not worth it imo.

Thanks for the link, I am going to do this soon. Now if I can just find a way to install something to pop the trunk without using the key or inside latch that would be awesome. Thanks again.

what do you want to use to pop the trunk? telekinesis?

"Total of $332.61" is what the guy on 8th spent on parts for the volume control..

My key has a trunk button on it. Is that the kind of thing you're thinking about?

when you said "without using the key" it threw me off.. I was thinking you didn't want to press a button on the key, but the LX may not have it (I'm guessing) So my bad with the smart *** comment.. It did paint a funny mental picture though

it is needed unless you wanna hack up the wiring harness like this guy did.. easy enough, but damn.. hacking away on a brand new car isn't appealing to me. up to the OP I guess

you call that hacking up the harness? thats a nice job, and the proper way to do it. he didn't touch the original wires in the harness, only added 2 wires to to it.

he did a nice job... everything looks fine.. for me personally I'd rather spend the money on the OEM harness (if I had an LX).. I have issues I guess

I've owned alot of older cars and one of my major complaints about them is figuring out what the hell the last guy did.. random wiring for stereo equipment that doesn't exist anymore, aftermarket head units hooked up by cutting wires and using butt connectors, etc. In fact the integra in my driveway burnt the blower motor up when a random wire from a shitty stereo job (last owner) shorted out underneath the dash.. worst part about it is that it was on a test drive with a guy that wanted to buy it (wonderful zapping noise and smoke out the vents ) . Now I'm stuck trying to sell a car in atlanta in august with no AC. I've got another motor now, just have to install it. I try and leave things clean and easy for the next guy.

That being said, hack was probably the wrong verb. The DIY guy did use the correct connectors and made everything look very nice. sorry if my response was steeped in personal feelings and not objective enough.. lol

exactly why used cars have the problems they do.. thanks for making my point

using a car involves driving it.
modding a car involves making changes.

so maybe when you buy a car that isn't stock, that's what you get.

last time i checked no one needs permission to modify or touch anything that they own. if you are buying a car from someone under 30 i can bet that 95% of the time something was played with

don't jump my *** because it's my personal preference to worry about the problems the next guy has. when I sell a car it's always in good condition, any problems it may have currently or in the near future I inform the potential buyer of.

I understand that you want to be an inconsiderate bastard. Again, personal preference.

I never said anyone needed permission to do anything. <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by rbf351 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">

correct your statement there guy.. if you buy a honda from someone under 30 that is probably true.. awfully broad generalization of all used cars though.

I gave my opinion about something. Yours was different.. why do you really care?

and what year is your civic 06 or 07?

How is that not OEM? You just have to buy the EX steering wheels control.
