How to adjust the clutch air gap on a 99 Civic EX?
It seems that the compressor clutch gap is too wide and doesn't always engage on my car. Is there a how to posted on reshimming the clutch? Or should I just pay a shop to do it? If so how much should a shop charge me?
Thanks

Remove the armature assembly and replace the shim underneath with a thinner one.

No. Its shown in the Helm manual. Thats where I got the information. You will need to either completely remove the compressor or unbolt it and try to get access to the front of it. Should be a 12mm or 14mm nut holding the armature on.

are you sure thats the problem? its definitely NOT a common one.
it not always engaging sounds like a different problem, like a clutch coil...
i'd at least check you air gap since you think that might be the problem, before tearing into it and changing out shims.
