Like the title says, I have a question about my Maintenance Required light. It is an '02 EP3, when I start the car the light flashes; after all other lights go out (ex. engine, oil, etc.), the Maintenance Required light will flash 10 times and then go out. I am going to do a tune up on it tomorrow hoping that that will fix the problem. You see it has a low idle (just under 600rpms) and it will stall once or twice before it is driven for awhile. I'm thinking maybe just plugs and coils will fix the problem but I was hoping to see if anyone has had this similar problem and if so, what was the solution. Thanks in advance guys.

 

depending how many miles, it may be your scheduled 75k or whatever maintenance reminder...it also could be telling you that you need an oil change.

Nothing to worry about buddy.... only be concerned when a C.E.L. comes up.

 

step one open owners manual...
step two read it
step three... say ohh **** thats how you do that....
step four turn off light on your own
step five relize this question has been asked around 45 thousand times..and you shoukd have used the search function on the site

thanks guys.. good advice, sorry i didnt search, didnt think of it.. needed to figure it out it was scaring me, but now that i know what it is, im happy, i mean i just did a oil change on it, so i just shut the light off.. thanks again

 

Before you turn the key in your ignition, hold down the trip button while starting the car. Hold it for 10 seconds and the light will vanish! Do this everytime you see it!
