2001 Prelude Radio Code
I have a 2001 Prelude and the battery went dead recently. Well luck would have that I can't find the darn radio code card. I'm left with removing the radio to retrieve the system code from the top of the radio and taking it to the dealer.
Any help on the easiest way to remove the radio?? I've messed around with it just a bit and I'm afraid of damaging the dash without the removal secret. Any help please!?
Thanks in advance to the expert.

actually... I know it WONT be on the back of the radio
the purpose of having the code in the first place is that if someone steals it they cant use it because they dont have the code. Putting the code on the back of the radio would defeat the code's purpose dont ya think?

As to the serial number and contacting the dealer. I tried this with my sister's civic. Good luck getting them to give it to you. I tried 5 different dealerships and none would do it.
Get the code on the back on the radio, call Honda, and you'll get it. You might have to pay, I'm not sure. When I had to get my code for my Audi, I had to pay... But that's because Audis suck.
Anyway, pry off the bezel surrounding the climate control/radio, and unscrew the radio/tray bracket, and pull out. The code you need to call Honda with is on the top.

I called the dealer and they'll give me the code, Part Department issue. I'll take the car to them if they want. Thanks for the heads up.

I'll give that a try. Real hesitant, don't want to screw up the dash.
Thanks
