Will Honda improve MPG on the Element?
I'm 6'6" and the Honda Element is the only car that fits we well. However, I cannot stomach the thought of buying a vehicle that only gets 24MPG on the highway.
Does Honda have any plans to make a hybrid version of the Element? If not, do they plan to improve the mileage?
Frankly, I was surprised to see a Honda with such low mileage.

you must not know much about the small SUV market. Unless you buy a Ford escape or the toyota hybrid, 25MPG is pretty darn good.
Also there are many other vehicles to fit someone your height... a 350Z for example

yeah, you could fit into many cars.. and 24mpg is pretty solid, But part of the reason it doesnt pull out better gas milage is because its a box.. not exactl the most aerodinamic car on the road..

Element...also known as the flying brick.
I have not heard any rumors of a hybrid Element anywhere in the Honda system.
(I work in sales at a Honda dealership) but that doesn't mean that it couldn't happen. From what I've seen about Honda hybrids in the last 5 years i've been working there, my opinion is that they are not going to concentrate there efforts on developing new models. The big buzz regarding better mileage SUVs is the diesel that Honda has been developing in Europe...Hmmm how bout a direct injection turbo diesel Element???

Probably have better luck in getting a diesel out of honda. They're ditching the hybrid accord and going with a turbo diesel for it. Since they both use a k24 in 4 cylinder form, I don't see why they wouldn't put in an option for the 2.2 liter turbo diesel unless it just doesn't fit.
