Happens about once every few weeks(maybe more frequent now). Will not start. Just like it is out of gas. Wait 5-6 minutes and "KABANG" it starts right up. Replaced the fuel filter. No help. Hope you guys can help. thanks

have you checked your spark? I need better description. Does it not want to crank over or does it not want to do anything at all?

 

It has happpened to my son a few times and to me once-when I was late for work and coundln't check anything. Just like a new car in the show room that has no gas in tank. It turns over like a bandit. Wait five minutes and it starts right up. thanks grump man

 

I also suspect a failing main relay. If you don't hear a click from behind the dash near the drivers left knee when the check engine light goes out the car probably won't start. That is the symptom I have observed 9/10 times when a main relay fails. Hope this helps.

not yet. Car runs OK most of the time and if you have have that starting problem--just do not be in hurry-wait 5 minutes an dit will start. Problem will probably get worse. Trying to nurse this ageing along for a few more years. Next MAJOR repair estimate and she is history. Youngest child leaves for last year of college in a week(praise the LORD-I never thought I would live to see the day). Bought a fuel pump relay from Auto Parts Warehouse. No local auto stroe carried the part and I will not go to a Honda dealer unless soemone puts a gun in my back. Hope to get installed in next 4-5 days. thanks

I'm a tech at a dealer. I have seen some pure hackery done on customers cars before. I think that whether or not a dealer is good really depends on who is working there.
