Starting Problem
My buddys 91 Civic has problems starting. In the morning and at night, when its cool it will start and run. But if you turn it off after that, it wont start up for a while. Even after only running for 5-10 secs, once turned off, all it does is crank. If you start it and drive 200 miles it never stalls, or anything. But god forbid you shut it off, there will be a long wait to start it. I thought it might be the distributer getting hot, because the cat was pretty much plugged, so i punched that out for the mean time, but the motor/ dist. dosent get warm after 10 secs of idleing, and the thing still wont start. While it was giving me problems starting, i pulled all the plugs and check for spark, which they all were getting, re-installed and it still wouldnt start. He had a new fuel pump put in about a month ago too. Im not sure whats going on.
Yesterday i replaced the battery to motor ground, but im not sure where else to its grounded to. Where should i check? And the cable i replaced, i didnt attach to the frame like the old one does, as it looked like it was done just to route it around the air intake tube, but im not sure, will i have to ground it to the chassis too? or is there one for that one also.

fuel regulator relay is out....it will start up once untill you shut the motor off...then gas gets sucked back into tank. then car doesnt get primed when starting again. try changing fuel main regulator relay right above the hood latch. need a 10mm wrench to pop it off.

okay this kinda sounds like my car... all i did was replace the Main Relay.. people said it wouldnt work but for some reason it did for me.. everytime the car would be too hot the car wouldnt start but at times when it isnt hot like in the morning or at night and when i did get it to start, i wouldnt be able to turn it off and if i did end up turning it off, i would have to wait a while before turning it back on... you can try to switch out the ignition switch wires or maybe even the whole ignition switch itself but its a pain in the butt..
is your check engine light constantly on? or does it turn off after a few seconds?
