Default A/C noise

Heres my problem. When i start the car and mind you its still cold now hasn't warmed up yet. I turn on the a/c and i get this really loud noise sounds like its from a belt. What belt and how can i make the noise go away. Or how can i fgure out what belt.
PLease help before i take the peice of ___ and smash it into a wall.

91 accord ex a.t. about 90somethin thousnad miles

what makes you say its from a belt? Does it squel? whine? Bark? A little more specifics would help..

ive heard belt squels from lets say a steering belt sounds something like that
sound goes away when the car is warmed up.

Not sure if its the same noise, but my old car (95 chevy cavalier ) used to squeal when the a/c was on, especially when it was raining or just humid outside. If you can't replace the belt, what I used to do was spray some lubricant on the belt <U>every</U> morning so that I wouldn't hear it. You could also use this to figure out what belt is making the noise.

compressor is low on oil

belt is old

belt is loose

belt is damaged

clutch is damaged

clutcc is slipping

Check the tension on the a/c belt. The a/c compressor is on the bottom towards the front. If it's loose you need to make the adjustment on the alternator since the a/c compressor is mounted solidly.

You shouldnt be turning your AC on when the car is cold anyway. My car makes a stupid AC sound too, especially when it in Park.

when im mean the car is cold i mean the temp guage. Thanks guys for adivce ill check it out this weekend.
