Default 07 SI e-brake prob

Hey my buddy has a 07 SI sedan... he is having problems with the e-brake. Is anyone else having this problem that the car just rolls even if its pulled all the way up? Its been in the shop 4 times now for the same thing. He wakes up and the car is in the road. I told him to call Honda direct and bitch them out and get something done with this. what should he do?

I can't believe your friend drives a car with a manual transmission and doesn't know that he could keep it in gear like the gentleman above suggested.

Ive had a couple of times where ive pulled my ebrake all the way up( so i thought) and it rolled a little..than i pulled it up more and it stayed. I never leave my car in gear cuz i have remote start and usually use that.

I never put my car in gear unless im on a steep slope. The e-brake should be more than enough to secure the car on a driveway type slope. get honda to fix it.

He has had plenty of standard cars and the e-brake should be plenty to hold the car but its been at the shop 4 times and now they are going to replace the cable. Ill let you know how he makes out

E-brake should be more than enough, even on a slight slope.

And contrary to that, leaving it in gear is more than enough too. Do both if you are OCD about your car like me.

maybe the OP's friend needs to work out a little then.. do some curls or something.. lol

a stretched cable is pretty unlikely at this stage in the game, unless it was a factory defect. If the dealer has looked at it 4 times and says it's ok it may just be user error.. not talking bad about your friend, but if the cable gets replaced and the parking brake still won't hold the car then you should get him a gym membership..

the parking brake is in a weird spot (bruises on my knee to prove it), could be a leverage issue.. is your friend tall/short/skinny/fat?

I think your friend should drown himself in the bathtub.

I dunno why but i dont beleive the bruises on your knees are from the ebrake. JK man! My knee rests against it too.

Yeah the loc for the parking brake is different..took me some getting used to. But at least the shifter isnt on the dash! Thats the only reason i didnt but an ep3 when they came out.

Yes sir, all you have to do is loop the clutch switch so the car thinks the clutch is in, I have one of mine but always have the kill switch on because all it takes is once, I have seen and heard a lot of horror stories about Manual remote starts, it is also really hard to find a shop that will actually do it for you...

I actually had a kid at my work with a SER Sentra, and he left it in forst with no e-brake and remote started his car, and from it sitting all day it idled so high and was able to keep going in first, it drove over a curb, down a hill and luckily hit a tree before it went in the middle of Rt. 8 by cleveland.

I never leave my car in gear though the e-brake is always on, I guess I am just strong enough to pull it all the way to the end haha jkkk

Have you ever driven an EP3? I thought the shifter sucked when I saw it, but it's actually extremely comfortable up there.
