Nippon ITR P73 Pistons vs. Honda OEM ITR P73 Pistons
Hey guys, I tried searching for some info on this topic but it's down right now. Anyone have any experiences with Nippon ITR pistons? I'm building a B18C1 block right now for mild all motor set-up, nothing crazy. Basically I just want something fun and reliable. Should i go with the Nippon 'high performance' pistons or stick with Honda? Any suggestions would be great.
Why not go with Honda pistons, you know they are well-made. If you need a non-oem style piston get something else, wouldn't that depend on your build anyway?
Yea that's probably what I will end up doing. I was just wondering since Nippon makes a lot of OEM-style parts for Hondas. Thanks for the reply, had basically the same reply in the other Integra forum.
I've used nippon/topline piston in multiple builds, B & D series. Cheaper than OEM, yet to have any tolerance issues, ring gap usually on the biger side of the allowance... but also dependent on bore size/P-W clearance.
If you're using stock rods, i wouldn't hesitate to use them. RS machine has ITR style pistons in 84/84.5/85 sizes FTW.

Thanks D, probably just going with the Honda ones though. But yea, using the stock rods.
