Default common problems DA teggy's.

already searched....google, superhonda, g2ic and others. no real good write-ups on common problems or things to look for when purchasing a DA. i know the basics like damage, engine wear signs and checking for rust, i want any little quirks specific to DA's.

i have a lead on an $1100 93 virgin and want to know any major things to look for..

thanks!

for a 93? If the frame was straight and the body lines up proper, I wouldn't even hesitate.

Sh*t its a $1100 93 Integra.

i'm really not worried about the engine so much. i already have a swap ready to go.. mainly concerned about the car. what does KBB have to do with anything? they are selling for way under KBB...

depends on where the car's from. the one thing i remember always having right when i got my da was leaks... actually i still have them one from broken plastic clips in the front, and the other from either a clogged up sun roof drain or bad tail light seals.\

another thing that could go wrong is the icu. i really don't know what else it does, but it controls the re defroster, and corner lights. that's loacted behind the fuse box in the car and it's usually bad.

i really can't think of anything off the top of my head because you say it's virgin 93. mine was a 90 that had gone to hell and back. and for some odd reason i bought it (first car puschase on my own and i bought it from a crooked mexican shop)

goodluck though

leaky cam seal

tear in driver seat [ the seats left side were your back hits it]

worn out axels, makes clicking sounds

rust on rear fenders

water leaks by passenger right foot

bad distrubutors

slow moving power windows

shaking stearing wheel

Broken ABS modulators [people just pull fuses because they dont want to spend $900 for a new one]

[this little thing were you get a full tank of gas and you think your getting great gas mileage then after half tank the **** plumets] wtf just alitttle thing

another thing with the gas tank wich is cool when your on E you have like 2 gallons of gas left so dont worry about it...

just wait till the gas light blinks a couple times

lots of old cv joints

the cars are pretty solid 92-93s have less rust so thats good...

Other then that...

idk if your into drag or autox

The cars tend to oversteer because the engine and basic weight of the car is alittle far over the front crossmember

some facts about the chassis i found from one da owner that i admire

Because of structural weakness common to the DA chassis, it is the one place of importance in overall vehicle improvement. The amount of high-tension steel used in the DA chassis is 25% less than in that of its predecessor, the DC, which also consists of 4-plate welds (not incorporated on the DA) resulting
in a 125% stiffer chassis. The DC chassis also features increased stiffeners and spot welds, and an overall higher load capacity due in part to its
superior monocoque design.

thats from TND2GEN

the crazy canadian

intresting information to think of if your building a ballanced car

a 91 LS Special was the first car I ever owned. It was fun untill everything started going out on it. I was changing a different hose on that thing almost every other week

i got mine way cheaper but with minor things to do that were basic maintenance anyway, but that gas tank (great mileage at full) is weird

I've heard that there are little rubber gromets sitting above the blower box that after a few years become dry rotted and allow the afformentioned. But I've got the same anoying ****. I'm about to do this soon.

what goes bad on the da is under the cowl (plastic where windsheld is) there is another plastic cover and that gasket goes bad and causes the car to leak<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Cannibal[Da9 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">]I've heard that there are little rubber gromets sitting above the blower box that after a few years become dry rotted and allow the afformentioned.
