The "JDM Stamp" you refer to just means that it passed Japanese wheel standards. It doesn't mean that it was manufactured there. Rota's have the "JDM Stamp" on some of their products, and they're produced in the Philippines, half way across the globe from Japan.

I've never heard of Fortron, but I have heard of Fortran. Fortran wheels are decent, and they have a decent style to them.
