Default GSR or SI?

Hello,

I'm looking to get a new car and my options seem to be a 2000 civic SI, 2002 Civic SI, or a 2000 Integra GSR. They all seem to have the same performance from what I have read. This will be my DD and I do not have any plans to modify. The insurance is about $75 a month cheaper for the 2000 SI. Right now I have a 96 civic dx so I don't want to feel like i'm buying the same car. THe 2002 Si's are a little funny looking and it doesn't seem like to many people have them. I do like the idea of the Integra because it will have leather and a hatch.

Do the SI's have different suspention?

Any suggestions?

IMO I would go with the GSR. I would much rather have a B18c1 than a B16a , especially if you already own a 96. Then again, why not just do a few simple mods to your 96 dx and save a couple grand? Is it in that bad of condition?

All good cars, its just about what you prefer. You could go with the 2002 si just to be different. There aren't very many of those running around.

if you don't plan on modifying it I say for the Si.

save yourself the headaches from theives everywhere trying to steal it.

insurance factor is also a plus.

i concur with airmax
since you aren't going to modify it, why bother with the expense of a gsr? you could find a SE integra with leather and pay less.

Or skip the theft potential and get the 02 si, it's a nice daily driver that you can fill up with regular.

they will jack an si just as fast as a gsr. if u want something different than what u got now, go with a gsr. personally i love the 99-01 si tho

99-00si = 1.6L
02si = slow
gsr = 1.8L

I'd say GSR just because of the acura quality and the super nice interior. I am biased of course since I used to own a 2k1 GSR :D But it really is a nice car on the inside, great for dd.

They are both at high risk for being stolen especially if the civic is electron blue. Either way I would get an alarm and a kill switch before I drove ether of them anywhere. IMO GSR

if it were me i would go for a 2000 si, they are the best looking si's IMO, and there are too many gsr's out there. i think the ep3 si's are goofy looking. i used to own a 2000 si and they are very fun cars. plus there is unlimited possibilities for b series motors, and a abundance of parts.

sure both cars are can be easily taken from you but the integra is more at risk.

usually people won't steal a stock si especially an EP3 but if it's an 99-00 then that's a different story -

they will maybe just want it for it's seats but that's bout it.. while a gsr they will stripe you clean from that black interior, rims, motor, etc

i own a 99 EX with everything SI and yea they look **** but GSR looks good too...so either one, hes going to love it...plus if he wants more outta da car he should go GSR more luxury and performance ..leather interior,better motor,its worth more and lose value less value than SI's...

Seriously... I would rather have the B18c1, the Blades, The leather/cloth seats, GSR cluster, and the chance to put on a JDM front end with HIDS and swap in Type-R interior.

Both are nice cars, but like everyone has said... you get more luxury out of the GSR with a better motor. Honda/Acura's will get stolen no matter what. Its just the chance you take owning them.

Well my DX has 270K on it and the drivers side is smashed a little it doesn't have any power options even no power steering, other wise I would probably just do a motor swap.

I know I had posted this in both civic and integra forums. I thought I would get more variety, but most people are saying the GSR.

How much is the GSR? Power options dont really mean much when you are looking at saving 7k+ by fixing the driver side door and dropping a B18C/C1

an epb 2000 si is one of my favorite hondas. but if you have the money the gsr has more bolt on potential with 1.8L than the 1.6L b16. both good options though. choose the once you like!

I would say a 2000 Si because its one of my fav cars especially in EPB. I am biased against a GS-R though since im an ITR *****. Cant go wrong with either though.
