B16 exhaust/exhaust question...
Damnit another thread. well here is another problem. the b16 exhaust manifold does not meet up with my current exaust. i was thinking of just cutting both ends and runnig some pipe to fix the prob. then i realized i have no cat on the car now, and i need inspection and emmisions soon. what should i do. should i have a shop weld on a cat where the gap is or should i just put on the piping for now. i will be getting exhaust in the future and dont want to spent alot of money twice. .....suggestions please.
i just did that ! hehe.. the flange doesnt match up right? the jdm one is a bit off.. (weird, thought it'd be straight) anyhow, i cut the flange off the pipe ( not the header) and welded (setaline, spelling?) it onto another piece of pipe than welded it to the exaust pipe.. . works fine
also, i am in alberta, canada.. no cat here, no emission tests, yet

Just did this 2 weeks ago. Unbolt the cat from the exhaust and rotate 120 degrees. Now it will line up. There was enough slack to pull the cat into the header.
oops sorry. diddn't see you don't have a cat. If you have a test pipe the same should work. Or cut and rotate 120.
