Default Anyone running a VAFC on their AP1?

Thinking of getting a VAFC for my AP1.... Anyone here have one on their Ap1? If so, how was it? To what did you set the V-tec and did you have it tuned? Suggestions and opinions please...... thanks!

Running the NEO. Do a search on S2KI.com for everything you need to know. +14hp & +3tq. Recommend tuning on Dynapack for partial throttle to get better tune & VTEC unmatch. Doesn't matter where we set the VTEC point at unless you know why you're doing it. Mine is at 5500 for smoother transition & wider midrange power.

+14hp? Any graphs to support that?

Glad you guys asked, tuned by Church Auto:

Oh and I made a mistake, it's +4tq. Not gloating, most peeps are surprised you don't need to spend $1200 on an EMS if only going n/a. J's standalone claims 10-20hp w/TB, so it's possible for a piggyback.

Nice....you're the second person that has pointed out Church Automotive when it comes to tuning. So the "NEO"...yeah I've heard of it, that would be a much newer version than the "Blue Screen" VAFC right?

Just wondering, will the older (Blue Screen) VAFC work just as fine as the Neo? What are the Neo's advantages over the older version?

The NEO has a different face and a few different functions. Check the APEX'i website

Does that mean it lasts longer than the car? They must be built really well.

The ecu on an s2k is a learning ecu and when when tunning it with the V-AFC, the ecu will try and adjust itself back to stock.

If you are going to run this set up, the ecu will have to be manual reset every now and then to retain the tuned settings.

says who? as far as it know its like any honda ecu that has parameters set for 100% throttle that arent modified by anything (o2 sensor) so tuning with a vafc etc will work when its in open loop

Had a guy drive from Fresno to tune his K-Pro RSX @ Church, so SD will be worth the trip for you.

Will installing a VAFC affect smog testing in anyway? I got the Blue Screen "Apexi VAFC I", second hand from a buddy of mine and I plan to install it on my AP1 soon. Any more advice or tips?

Haven't done it myself. From what I've read, OBD2 tells the smog station if the computer has been altered. Turn off the AFC, disconnect the harness, reset the EMU, and you're good.
