Switch to oil life, hold Sel/reset 10 seconds until it blinks, hold sel/reset 5 seconds to reset to 100%.

.... But what about when you put in Synthetic and want to go longer on the oil change?

Then don't pay attention to the oil life percentage and keep a log of your mileage?

Honestly even with Synth, you'll want to change your oil at about the same mileage I would think. Synthetic or not, your oil is still getting contaminated.

I used to change it at about 5 grand with my Turbo'd SE-R... Fully synthetic that is. I know I just hit the 20% mark on my oil life, and I got 4100 miles on it. I'll probably be changing it at about 4500 anyways... I guess it will work out around the same anyways

I don't care what my meter says. 3000 miles = CHANGE! Most of the time, it's at 60% or more. (I still reset it each change)

you really dont need to change your oil even on regular untill about 5k that is with oils of today. test have shown that they do not start to brake down untill about 10-15k full synthetic will go even longer. The main reason behind changing your oil every 3-5k is for the oil filter. But if you get a better filter you can go 5-7k easy on any oil out there and yes i know there are going to be people that say im crazy and all that fun stuff put hey waste money i dont care. On a side note my when i hadmy 1995 del sol it said in the users manual that oil should be changed every 5-7500 miles which thought was funny. Any one easy have an old honda that says that in the users maunal?

I would like to add that turbo'd and supercharged engine should be changed sooner because of the heat it will brake down the oil quicker.
