Looking at a 87 HF
try to keep rust to a minimum. You should know that the HF is the slowest car, but also the best one for an engine swap(performance wise). look for a straight chassis and good paint. I can't think af anything special to worry about. What did you have in mind to do with it?
87 hf best for a swap? maybe, but you DO realize that a swap into an 87 hf requires a COMPLETE custom fuel setup, and you have to add an ecu and wriing harness as well. the modifications just to get the car to efi would take 2x as long as the actual swap would.... maybe even longer.
yeah I know this won't be a fast car..1.5 carb engine with like 70hp....I am buying it cheap and I really like the look of the 3rd gen civic and 1st gen rex's...BTW would it be possible to ever fit performance carbs like Webber, if say I put and 87-88 integra motor that was also carb? Then I would not have to change wireing...PFGM who needs it!!..Joke...
I know that 87 rex's don't have indypendant rear suspension...how easy it is to upgrade the suspension...
BTW thank for all the responses..I am buying this car out of conveniance and cheap price(like $800 CDN)

SUSPENSION: Try out some Tokico 5 ways and some ground control springs and or coilovers w/ torsion bars.....that mug will handle like a monster.
also you really only have to get a wiring harness out of a 88-91 Si or EX and then go with the ext. fuel pump. toss a b16 in there and you will be NICE!!!
