Default car bogging out

Yes I have searched. I have replaced my plugs, wires, cap and rotor and fuel filter. I have also used fuel injector cleaner. Yet almost every time I drive my car it tends to bog out. However it does happen when I really get on it! My next guess is the throttle position sensor. Any suggestions???

Its not TPS. Bogging can be Map and/or O2 sensor related. Over time, the MAP sensor gathers dust/debris in its tiny nipple, which can easily be cleaned out. As for the 02 sensor, when this unit becomes too clogged with carbon/soot, it gives innacurate readings to the ECU, causing your air/fuel ratio to mess up, which would cause your motor to feel like its bogging.

Wipe it out, the tiny nipple on it can become clogged over time with dust/debris. This nipple measures Manifold Absolute Pressure, which plays a role in fuel input. I cleaned mine with a very small amount of brake cleaner, and a rag that was thin enough that i could make tiny twisted ends that would fit into the tiny hole ( No 'thats what she said' jokes here).

I've had similar problems with my D16y8. Depending on how and when it bogs down, it might indicate a problem with the IACV. It could potentially be the crankshaft speed sensor as well.

Replacing the o2 sensor would probably be wise, as part of a general tune up. Are you getting any CEL's?

Im having the same issue. Yesterday i washed the engine bay in the sun and let uit dry. I covered the Distributor, batter, HID's, with 2 bags each. Im sure the dizzy didnt get wet. Later that day i went for a cruise and the car ran strong and shifted all the way up to redline which is 7,500 rpm. Today i go fill the car with gas and i go to hit Vtec in 2nd gear and it bogs like hell it felt like redline. I can feel the power loss from 1500-3000 rpm.

Can someone diagnosis this for me. Fuel filter, o2 sensor, injector. I need help and i appreciate it.

I have a similar problem.
My 95 lx occasionally has no power from ~2000-3000 RPM, feels like it has no fuel or spark. Just bogs down then regains power. When it gets past that point it's fine. Sometimes I can lift off the gas and step on it again to get the power back.
Runs fine at higher RPMs.
I think I can hear some grinding noise by the distributor sometimes.

I've changed the spark plugs, and wires. Using Lucus fuel cleaner. Cleaned the butterfly thing too.
Dunno what the cause is.

o2 will not cause bogging

dont have any ideas or solutions, but since this is having so many "same problem" responses it probably should be stickied.

ok well first thing i would like to know is when this started happening, and also what kind of stuff has been done to the car, is it the original motor? have u had anything fixed or replaced recently **** like that what rpm soes this "bogging" start happening? any cel's we need to know every detail to really help out. try giving it partial throttle all the way up to redline and see if it runs ok with just partial throttle also when u say it boggs do u mean when u hit a certain rpm it literaly boggs or does it jus feel like it slowly stops making power and u dont go anywhere

I seafoam my engine to clean out the carbon build up and it still bogs, but after a couple of days...doesn't bog anymore. But I'm thinking it might just be a vac. source...cause I "had" weird idle too when at a stop light or cold start.

5 speed conversion on my 94 civic ex, stock motor just intake, chipped ecu. thats all thats been done. im thinking git could be my chipped ecu now messing up. the check engine light used to come one and the car would stutter and run terrible for a second or two then it would go off and run fine. I got a new chip made ands its been fine for a month now its back to this but now its bogging and no check engine light. I added fuel injection cleaner but i really havent driven the car enough to see if the problem is gone or not
