ive been having a weird issue going on w/my 05 type s whenever im washing my car i have the car radio on but all of the sudden it shuts down itself the starts right back up like if nothing happened....i checked the battery voltage and its at or above 12.65v....can anyone help out w/this issue??? thanks in advance

 

This only happens when you are washing your car?

well this only happened when i would wash my car but yesterday when i pulled out and down the street my car turned off completely but it started right back up while still rolling.....but i pluged in an obd 2 scanner and there were no codes the only thing i found wrong w/the readings was the battery voltage. it was at 12.3-12.4v!!!!!

 

i'm gonna throw an idea out there... it will only throw the signal when the problem happens (if it throws one at all). keep that scanner plugged in if possible so the next time it happens you can catch it and see what's going on. good luck

 

i havent had the chance to use the scanner again cuz it belongs to my school but last nite hen i was taking my gf home the car would start, nothing would turn on....no headlights no nothing. and the weird thing about this is that when i went to go open the trunk the trunk light came on. so i got my dmm and got the battery voltage reading, it was at 12.91v...isnt the battery voltage supposed to drop whenever theres any type of load on the battery???

 

might suond stupid.. but did you check your battery terminals?

 

OEM or aftermarket deck?

 

im not sure what the problem is cuz that's that use to happen to me, i use to keep the radio on when i clean the inside so it tells that the radio been on for a while im guessing it just automaticly turns off after a while but turning back on out of no were is a different story. Just saying that the turning off part is normal... turning on.. something must be wrong.
