Tips on driving the R?
Hey just got my R a week ago and its a blast to drive. This is my first manual car tho so its pretty tricky to get used to, especially with the light flywheel and such. Any tips you guys can give to get the most out of driving my R? (and smoothly)

just enjoy it and now that you have one of the best Honda has to offer. Be safe on the streets and take her to the track or some road course you will appreciate it a lot more than being stupid on the streets!

Practise. And the best place to do this is:
Street - for learning how to up shift and down shift smoothly for daily driving
Drag Strip - for learning how to shift fast and launch a FWD car
AutoX - for learning how to turn, brake and control your car near it's handling limits
Road Course - for learning limits of you and your car at high speeds, it combines the skills developed from the 3 above and takes it to the next level.

What they said;
and in general be safe. No stupid **** on the road Please! It would suck to see us lose another member, And another R.
Good luck, and take it to the X!

PS until you take it to a Course or Autocross, you will never Truely appreciate it.

Just don't drive like a dumbass, and you'll be fine.
[pat's dumbass R story] A few weeks after I bought my R, I was commuting home from work like a good little boy. All of a sudden, everyone in front of me on the interstate brakes like mad. So I mat the brake pedal, and suddenly learn how good Type R brakes are. Luckily, the F-150 behind me swerves instead of ***-phucking my car

Just drive like you got some upbringing, and you'll be fine

Mine doesn't seem to burn anymore now that I switched to Syntech, and I just drove an event yesterday.

dont try to learn from your own mistakes...take in what the others have told you! I personally dont think you should be learning how to drive a 5speed on a itr, but its your life and car. Treat it good and guard it w/ your life! Its not just an average car on the road....
