Boss GT Series speakers
Hi
I have a 96 civic SI and i want to replace my front and back speakers. So i saw these Boss speakers on ebay that are quite cheap and i was thinking of buying them, but i want to now how they sound. have you had an exprience with boss products? why are they so cheap compare to other brands? the ones that i want to buy are:
Front: BOSS GT-653 6.5 INCH 3-WAY 350 WATT
Back: BOSS GT-694 540 WATT 4 WAY 6X9
How about Pyle products? which one sounds better?

Boss product is junk, that's why they are cheap, the same goes for Pyle, both are a waste of money.
Your better off going to a bone yard and finding good sets of OEM speakers

what do you mean by you have a 96 civic SI? It doesnt exist. do you have a hatch, sedan, or coupe? BOSS is junk, honda uses 6" speakers so the front boss speakers would be too big anyway. Stick with a nice set of two ways front and rear. 3-ways and 4-ways often times only have an extra piece of metal glued to them as a speaker that is non-funtional. besides you dont want highs coming from behind you.
Cheap great sounding speakers:
kenwood kfc-1680ie - front retail for 89.99
kenwood kfc 6990ie - rear retail for 99.99

The EX model in US is called SI in canada so what i have is a 96 EX. it is coupe with sunroof and power everything.
So if the boss is junk I have to get something else. between kenwood, sony, and pioneer which one is better? and is it better to stick with two ways speakers for front and back? I listen to trance a lot so i want something to sound nice but affordable.

Forget Sony also, go with the Pioneers or the Kenwoods, Ditto the above, spend your money on front speakers, you may want to look at some Eclipse SP6500... http://www.eclipse-web.com/point/sp6500.html amazing sound with a 2x75W RMS amp on them, even better if stock plastic speaker housing is replaced with a custom MDF mounting plate.
