Default 2007 EX sedan problem/question?

Hello,

I recently purchased a 2007 Civic EX sedan and seem to be having a problem? When I turn my Headlights or parking lights on while driving the heater will kick on full for about 30 seconds. It will not do it every time but it seems to do it most of the time. Once the heater is on none of the controls for the heating system work. After 30 seconds the heater will then turn back off and I can control the heating system. Because it turns on and off it almost appears to be a feature?

You talking about your A/C?

It is the heat that comes on and will override the A/C. On a hot night it is very annoying. But then it turns off after 30 seconds.

I plan to take it in to the dealership, but before I do I just wanted to check if it was some feature or someting.

So you are saying when you are on the road, and the A/C has been running for awhile cold, but once you turn your headlights on the air suddenly turns hot for 30 seconds then cools back down to normal?

Pretty much everytime I am driving and it gets dark and I go to turn on my heatlights the Heater comes on full tilt boogey. This time of year I would prefer to have my A/C on or nothing on but when the heater comes on you can not override it. Then 30 seconds goes by and the heater turns back off and I have control of the system again.

It is not so much as the air suddenly turns hot, you can hear the blower motor come on full and it is not cold air.

Besides that we really like our new Civic.

Sounds like some electrical problem.
