Spark plugs bad again need advice.
Ok this is my 3rd thread on spark plugs. If any yall remember back in the winter i went through like 3 sets of plugs. noticed car running a lil funny again so i decided to change plugs again. heres what i found. any one know whats the cause of this? The plugs all have that orangish ring at the bottom of them. the plugs all have black marks that look like burns and the tips are white like its lean.

yeah the tops are black looks like burn marks. i woudlnt say its misfiring at high rpm but around 3k-4k it gets sluggish. i know im running rich bc i have black stuff on back my bumper and lots of black smoke @ vtec. but this 1st time the plugs looked like this they usualy were all black.
hmm the 1st set i ran was iridiums but fouled out due to ignition timing since then i ran ngk vpower cuz i kept fouling cant afford iridiums every week lol. any one else know what could cause plug like that?

i know autolite and other manufacturers have charts that display different pictures and conditions behind them, maybe that will help. Are you sure the orange isnt just rust from moisture getting in there alittle maybe ? Just throwing out some ideas.
What kind of wires are you using?
I had a similar problem when I was using Accel plug wires. Switched over to stock and everything's been fine for years.

If you were to say Nology or Accel, then I would recommend replacing them for OEM. I haven't heard of anything negative about NGK's, but I immediately thought wires when you stated that your car felt sluggish and the plugs had black marks.
Check the wires by seeing if there's any arc'ing (in the dark).
There's some interesting infomation on this website about OEM vs. aftermarket wires. http://vtec.net/articles/view-...=8680

So are OEM Honda spark plugs made by NGK? I need to replace mine and I am looking for something as close to OEM as possible.
First of all, don't waste money on iridiums. You won't gain any power or any benefit from them, trust me. NGK platinums or the Denso equivalents are just fine.
From the pics, it's hard to tell, but kind of looks like it's running rich.

Andy,
I believe honda just uses NGK plugs. My service manual says that NGK is the recommended plug.
Recommended plugs:
NGK PZFR6F-11
Denso PKJ20CR-L11

ok the car has had a idle problem lately after i rev it up itll drop down rly low like its gunna die or if im driving and come to a stop light and push in clutch rmps drop to like 500 and under then fluctuate back up to 1k. and ive began to notice hesitation when punching it (tried injector cleaner many times) I have a feeling all this is linked any idea on what that could be? also ive checked ignition timing a few times but its always kinda hard to reference off of bc when i look in the flywheel hole to line up the marks depending on the angle i look its hard to set the timing right. I know its running rich bc black buildup on my bumper, but ive dont almost everything i could think of any advice on the timing?

It did on mine. Normal NGK's vpower could not burn the fuel. Caused miss Fires at High RPM's once Iridiums went in. Eveything worked perfect.
I need to get a MSD ignition soon. Didn't feel any more power with Iridiums but it fixed my problem. Burn hotter.

NICE!! Thanks!
I went to the Honda dealership to buy some OEM plugs. When the bill came to $82 for all four, I laughed. I then walked out without them. LOL

anyone got ne advice to my problem? also just about every time I let off gas while in gear it gurgles lol if you know what im trying to say
Thats honda's 200% markup for you. Even though that sounds more like 400% markup. What did you do? sleep with the part's counter dude's wife??
Are the plugs actually "shot"? or just dirty? you could just clean them up and stop replacing them. Unless they are fouled of course!
