Default Torque Damper - CorSport

Has anyone tried one these things yet? I am not it would even fit with the Supercharger, but it sounds like it might be helpful if it does.

Any reviews would be welcome

Had one on my RSX-S(Ingalls "Stiffy"), WOW did that thing transfer noise/harshness/vibration into the passenger cabin. When you started the car you could feel everything. Bad part, the car still had some wheel hop, even w/ it set on the stiffest setting. Just use 3M windshield adhesive and fill your motor mounts, you will be much happier.

^ agreed.

I had one on my ep3 and car sounded like a rattle trap

HOWEVER it did get rid of the wheel hop from the k20a3 (160hp w/ no lsd)

The Si i think it will make a difference BUT... is it worth it...

if the si is a daily driver... Hell no.
if its a fun car to take to the track...hell yes.

Yep, this is my daily driver. Sounds like it's not for me.

Thank you much for the info.

Reaper, how do you have the stffness set?? To get the benefit, I had to set it to the stiffest setting. Had it set about half way and it would not FULLY stop wheel hop. Don't get me wrong, w/ it set to full stiffness, I noticed a difference, but the N/H/V were too much. I ended up taking it off and selling it on clubrsx forums. I plan on doing the following to the Si since our mounts are very easy to get to---

This DOES NOT fit with the Comptech Supercharger.

I was one of the test vehicles for this product with CorSport and Ingalls (both local companies), and for some reason, even after multiple test fits and some measuring, Ingalls never made the proper adjustments for it to fit. I'm assuming there was too much demand from the NA guys so Ingalls just rushed it to market.

Even if they did make it fit with the S/C, it's going to be a VERY close fit.

I WISH they would though... I could REALLY use it.

That looks good! I have seen one of these on 5Zigens webiste. Theirs bolts up using the valve cover and is attatched to the firewall.

... what else do you need? This thing will make your car severely rattle at the cost of a lower chance of wheel-hop.

If you don't mind your car shaking, get it. I do.. so I would never get one.

It's not going to get rid of any jolt in downshifting if you can't do a simple rev-match. That's caused by the engine revolving slower than the gear you place it in, causing it to 'jolt' when it suddenly has to catch up to the right speed. They has nothing to do with the engine flexing under the hood.. at least that doesn't make sense (physically) to me as to why it would remove that.

Here is a link to my Ingalls ETD Modified for the NST Idler pulley. I don't know about Comptechs S/C setup but there is always a way to get around it. Hope this helps.

i have it set at the medium setting since i'm not tracking my car and launching my car ATM. the ONLY time i get vibrations/rattles is when i have the a/c on and it is not too bad. i bet if i were to loosen it up to the softest setting it would be less noticable too. point is on the stiffest setting, it DOES eliminate the wheel hop almos completely, it is not a 50/50 chance or anything like that. if you don't go to the track, don't even bother getting this but if you do it is a must.

Its downshifting but you blip the throttle before it so it catches at the correct rpm istead of having to tack up and jolt the hell out of the car..
And this torque dampener thing I didnt know our cars had torque haha

I ya, i do that anyways (along with gradually breaking then easing up so it not a JOLTING stop) Since i know how to drive an automobile these actions are commonplace

Oh and i totally agree with the torque issue. Kinda sad actually, but i realize that we are getting PLENTY of power out of our engines in the grand scheme of things. Just wish i could find the magic mod to improve torque in the sub- 4ks
