Honda Accord - H22a swap with EGR problem
Currently I am using a P13 5 speed ECU for my JDM H22 swap in my accord the reason is because this prevents the EGR CEL from going off and allows for me to pass emissions.
I have a chipped p72 as well that I would like to use that I can change the governer a little higher.
But what happens is when I put the P72 in the CEL goes off and the EGR gets all caked up and I will not pass emissions.
I have changed the EGR, O2 sensor and everything and the p72 still throws the code.
Does anyone else have any input or ideas as to why this is happening and what steps or measures I should take?
Thanks.

Can I just adjust the VTEC engagement point using the p13 with a VAFC since my car is stock and I don't plan on doing anything aggressive.
Is that an OBD1 or OBD2 ECU? Are you just wanting to pass emissions or you want everything to work right with the EGR?
Also, what is the CEL for? EGR?
Also, what is the CEL for? EGR?
It is an OBDI ecu and I am wanting to pass emissions and work right (which the p13 is doing).
But I am wondering why the CEL goes on when I use the p72....?
CEL is for EGR.

CEL is for EGR.
I was thinking p13 with a VAFC.
that way I can change the vtec engangement point a little lower to take advantage of the powerband instead of vtec being at the stock of 4800 RPM's.
And the redline is at 6400 RPM's
Any inputs on these ideas...

Well, I can tell what I do with mine to pass emissions and keep the CEL off... I have a block-off plate so the EGR is plugged in but not flowing and when I need to pass emission I buy a small bottle of RXP and drop in the gas tank before I go to the emissions place. I pass 100% legally without any problems.
Sorry, I don't know for sure what each ECU will do for you.

I did some searching and found that it was the opposite situation for other people they would use the p13 and run into problems instead of the p72....

What year is your accord? If you car is a 1992-1995 you will only have to pass the visual inspection. I recommend you keep the P13 if it is working.
