quick question on cable to hydro conversion??
all the cable/hydro conversions I see on ebay are basically just a bracket. is this bracket so you can hook a hydro transmission's slave cylinder onto a cable transmission??
right now I've got a b18a1/cable transmission in my eg hatch with a rigged up clutch pedal and I'm running with a clutch cable. I have all the parts to use the hydraulic setup but I'm confused on how to use the cable transmission with it. I'm assuming that's what these conversions do but I dont want to spend the money to find out it's for something different.

to put a cable tranny in your hydro car you'll need 3 things.
a custom mount to put on the top of the tranny
a bracket to move the slave cylinder
a bracket that mounts onto the arm coming out of the tranny to mate against the tip of the slave cylinder
i have an avid mount kit if your interested
and i forgot this part. The bolts that hold the rear mount bracket on a cable tranny are smaller than the bolts that hold on a hydro trannys rear mount bracket.
I had my father machine a bushing for me to deal with this problem. Basicly take a 12mm ID 14mm OD bushing.

the rear mount is different?
coulda fooled me. I used a stock 94 teg rear mount. I have a custom tranny mount that was made for me by innovative.
I just didnt know how to adapt the hydro clutch setup to the cable trans so I went with the cable stuff and modified an extra hydro pedal to accept the clutch cable....its starting to irritate me though lol.

you'll use your OEM rear mount, it's the bolt holes in the tranny that hold the rear mont bracket to the tranny that are different sizes. There are 3 bolts that hold the rear mount bracket to the tranny. Hydro trannys have bigger bolts than the cable trannys
the way you make the slave cylinder work on the cable clutch is quite simple. Your just turning the slave cylinder 90 deg so it's going up and down and bolting an arm onto the clutch fork to accept the slave cylinder.

ok cool. but I do think you are missing one point though. I've ALREADY done the engine swap and I'm using an integra rear mount, not the stock d-series mount. so apparently you can use either rear mount.

i never said you had to use a different rear mount. The OEM D series mount for a 92-95 civic is the same as a 94+ teggy
It is the bolts that hold the rear mount bracket to the tranny that are different between the hydro and cable trannys.
