Default I rode in a JRSC GSR this weekend...

All i have to say is that is was badass.... upgraded kit and was tuned pretty tight and had a JS safeguard.

All the naysayers might dog it.. but damn.. not bad for street legal on demand power!!!

I was impressed..

Jake (GSRwBOOST) and Chris (CKDC2) came over sunday to my house just to hang out/work on the cars. We both took each other for a ride........it was fun. I think we both surprised each other.

Here are the 2 links......enjoy! https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=205118

yup. it made me think my friends car was quick as fock. then when i raced him.. it didnt seem that quick after all. the torque is tight... but the overall power is not there.

Am I your friends car? Did I say my car was quick as fock?Have I raced you?

In fact I never claimed anything from car.......I built it to be a autoX/roadrace/canyon car. Plus I wanted something street/smog legal being in LA. All I was looking for was a nice 13 second car 220-240hp range with the power there instantly.....if I wanted all out power and didn't have to worry about who I'm going to pay off every 2 years I would have done a turbo....
Turns out I have run 12.81@108 and it passes smog.

I did exactly what I wanted to do and I had fun doing it. Isn't that what its about?

yea man, chill out. your ride sounds nice on paper, and i know the jrsc pant dyno pull. its definetely fun. I'd run it on the daily if it weren't a 3k setup.

It's cool.....I just come to this board to learn, meet people (Jake for example) and help people where I can. I just get tired of people always so quick to bash other peoples setups when they have no idea there may have been a purpose behind it. I think alot of people miss out on the true potenial of these cars.....handling. Whether its a civic or integra etc...they are light, double wishbone suspention etc...
The REALTIME crew has cleaned up 3 years in a row now
If I wanted serious horsepower only I would have never sold my 73 challenger that ran 10.90's......

Im *thinking* about the JRSC for my LS/Vtec motor. Iv always wanted a turbo, but the last few days I decided I just want a fun car. If I did it I would get hondata 2b, DSM injectors, Hondata heat sheild, and the pully upgrade kit. I just want somthing where the power is there all time the second I hit the gas.

I think you`ll like mine, Jake. Imagine that same car at 2.0, built, w/ lsd, at 8lbs, but in a hatch

yeah, it pulls like *** on the highway... pulls to 130-140mph in very little time, and my car kept up with my friends RX-7 (cuz he let off after like 140mph, he woulda kept pulling up to like 160mph, where i woulda slowed down cuz my aerodynamics suck)

one of the few 'races' i got into with my JRSC was with a turbo'd civic.

i KILLED it off the line every time (5,6,7,8,9,10 car lengths). then, at about 60mph... WOOOOSH that civic shot by me like it was commin out of a cannon.

chick driver, too.

jesus christ.............kids these days............

i've been through this before. i never said the jrsc sucked all together. art and jake said it pulls well down low........and it does. art said "don't let the low end torque fool you" and i was just elaborating on that. i owned a jrsc'd gsr powered civic hatch. it was fun. probably would have been great on a autox course. i had the 8 lb pulley and almost 230 to the wheels...........so all of you saying "he's biased" can please, shut the f up. the set up was fine and did give you the perception it was fast...........but on the highway, it was ***. i raced alot of people from a stand still and beat everyone. it was teal green with si rims and completely stock looking. especially 2 years ago. i raced a friend of mine with a turbo gsr powered hatch. he had race gas and about 350 to the wheels. well we had both been to the dyno and tuned the cars. they were both running great. he completely slaughtered me. i mean total destruction. not even close. made me real sad that day. i thought i had something special until that afternoon and i eventually sold it and bought the same turbo kit that had previously beaten me. so for all you guys thinking its me thats mistaken..........think again, i've been there and done that. i am not mistaken.

the charger pulls through the low end great...............but thats about it.

I agree with you 100%.......but lets get real here. Thats not a very fair race.....350hp vs 230hp....what did you expect. This ALWAYS develops into the turbo vs. S.C. post. The main problem for me is f***ing California and their damn smog laws. They both have their advantages/disadvantages. Power vs power hands down the turbo will win.....
But if some people (like me) that want a reliable 12-13sec car that passes smog and need the instant power for AutoX/roadracing you can't go wrong.

Sounds about right, it is good for a low end power application like Auto-x. For high end rpm power, of course we all know now that the turbo is king.

as far as smog goes, i just never really think about it. but i would definatly back the 8 lb jrsc on a gsr hatch for autox / roadrace. except, my friend had a 211 hsp (to the wheels) crvtec hatch that went 12.0 @ 113 mph. with interior(no back seat) and it was daily driven. my hatch w/jrsc would have never pulled 12.0's. ****, i only had about 107 mph through the traps. ****** N/A bastards.

ask anyone who has ridden in my car and they will tell you that the JRSC does work when its tuned and done right. My car has 270whp and 170trq on 8psi with the JRSC on my 98 R with stock internals. Oh yeah the car runs high 11's on slicks and runs mid-low 12's with it misfiring for old plugs!
Tires spin 1-4th gear and will break loose in 4th gear on the hwy if I floor it.

What is your setup? I would be very happy with that kind of output with my car!
