Vacuum line to nowhere?

Haha, my intake is aftermarket and it does have a little nipple on it.
Anyway, that line just goes to the starting air or air boost valve. It's not really needed and if you remove the valve or cap off the nipple it won't make any difference.

My AEM came with a little foam cylinder that you put on top the cold start valve. Then I just went to AutoZone and bought a vacuum cap for the manifold.
Well my intake has that hose that goes to the valve cover if that's what you're talking about. I capped off that line and my car started to surge. Also when I try adjusting my idle with the idle screw, it does nothing. Is it ok to drive around like this with the line open and all? I'm just afraid of it sucking it bad particles...
hey what i did was i bought one of those little filters that you can put on the motor. then the hose that whent from the intake to the motor (valve cover) i made that line go into that nipple gotta force it inthere some. i would suggest you do so.
