For Sale is my 2001 Berlina Black S2000. This car is very well known throughout the S2000 community and the middle USA. As a moderator on s2ki.com my reputation is excellent and I have been a fixture at regional meets for the last four years.

I will be finishing school in December and taking a faculty position at a yet unknown university. It's very difficult to sell the car but I will be needing the cash for a down payment on a house.

I leaned out cylinder 2 on the Dragon in east TN in the Fall of 2002. This threw a rod bearing and put the cylinder 3 rod through the block. All of the follow-up work was completed by HardTopGuy's tech Dave (probably the most experienced S2000 mechanic in the USA). I had a new OEM shortblock put into the car at the time and the head was milled down slightly increasing the compression ratio. As the car stands now the engine is amazing. Of the very few people other than myself that have driven this car they are routinely caught off guard by how potent the rebuild is.

All routine maintenance has been done personally. The engine was broken in with Mineral oil, post break-in only Mobil 1 synthetic has been used. Brake fluid is Super blue, MTF is GM syncromesh, Diff fluid is LE.

Last month I won the award for cleanest car at the S2000/NSX South Eastern Super Meet.

how's the top? replaced with plastic or glass window?

 

The top is the original OEM top and in good condition I have been very particular about it's maintenance. This means that it has a plastic window.

The vinyl is in very good condition. I have kept the car garaged and cleaned the soft top regularly. I routinely buff the plastic window with Meguires plastic cleaner and follow-up polish. Regular cleaning of the plastic window is done with Plexus.

There's an art to maintaining the soft top on any car. I will be happy to walk through routine maintenance with anyone interested in purchasing the vehicle. I'll also include the Meguires plastic cleaner and polish, Plexus and Blue Coral vinyl scrub since some of these products are difficult to find.
