Default d16y7 timing problem...

so heres the deal...had to do the timing belt on a d16y7...the car had blown the water pump and melted the timing cover(real bad actually had never seen that before)....now i want to know if the d16y7 has the timing marks on the inner plastic piece of the timing cover(one that goes behind the upper cover) or do u just line it up with head surface like some other d series...cant remember for the life of me if the lil cover is the one that has the timing mark...i lined it up with the head but its off a tooth or 2 i can tell...the timing cover has melted away like i said so i have no visible timing mark....apreciate ur help...just trying to see if i need the cover of if i lines it up wrong...pretty sure its lined up right though if its like some of the other non v-tec single cams...thanks
