FUEL PUMP AND MOTOR SWAP

hmm well i swaped in a Z6 in my 89 sedan ..with a p28 and when i reach like 4k rpm it feels like the fuel pump shuts off then i have to slown down the press the gas then comes back on ...anybody know why
