They say it was something in the lumbar support, but they checked out another Type-R and the same thing was occuring.

Basically, it's a faint-moderate popping sound and feeling when driving. it's kind of annoying and can be really bad at times.

How many out there have experienced this on their Type-Rs? Just curious.

 

I have heard that from a previous post and it was a result in the seat being BENT.

 

Its a relatively common problem with ITR's. There was a thread a while ago about it, but since it happens in so many cars, I'm not even sure that replacing the seat would solve the problem indefinately. I've just learned to ignore mine.

I have not noticed this on my stock ITR seats. Maybe Canadian ITR seats are of better quality

 

So what would be the best method of having the seat fixed or replaced?

 

sparco, recaro, OMP, Vision, bride. etc etc....

 

Well, guess I should have kind of expected this from the R. Guess I shouldn't expect much from an Acura

My stock seat never popped

 

Mine never popped, but you could see some sort of brace or wire under the driver's cushion. Im sure it wasnt normal.

 

I didn't have a popping but a squeak. They replaced the sliders and rails under warranty. No more squeak, happy me.

 

Get Recaros=No more squeak

Even though i never had that problem thank god

 

I've never experienced it before with my seats.

 

Lumbar support has broken twice on my seat... once replaced under warrenty. now it's just broke, and i'm too lazy to fix it.

mine is fine by the way, pop-free. maybe a few of us got Wednesday seats?

 

My seats never popped...but then again they weren't in the car long.

my red canadian seats have never popped.......

 

Happens to my GSR seats. Annoying as hell.

 

If it pops under warranty do they give you a new seat?

My Recaros used to pop, usually when taking corners

Now they dont, so I guess it fixed itself

 

Yes, my lumbar support squeaks... I'm going to wait until I buy a race seat, then go get it fixed so I can sell it without the squeaks.
