Default help: rust on the lining between my room and my rear window

the rust on my roof is rusting pretty bad where water would leak inside my car interior...can i just break off all the rust and sand it down and fill it with bondo?? will the rust still overtake my roof?? i know i got to remove the window to do a proper repair but i dont have the time to do all that soo i need another option...someone else told me fiberglass would be good...but i dont know how i would get between the linings...anyone have their suggestions?? thanks

Bondo is not meant to span across openings, only to build up uneven surfaces. Do it the right way and have someone weld in new metal, grind down the welds, then bondo. Then primer and paint.

What kind of car is it, and where exactly is the rust? That sounds odd.

Take pictures so we know what you're talking about.
